Castlegreen Care Home
Castlegreen is the local care home in Niddrie and has about 60 residents. It is a well run care home and many of the staff live in Niddrie.
As a church we have the opportunity to go up to Castlegreen and do a service once a month. We sing songs, pray and have a short gospel message and then we have a cup of tea at the end so that we can sit and chat with the residents.
Its a great ministry as many of the residents don’t get out and others don’t even get visitors. Many suffer with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s but their faces light up when we sing an old hymn that they knew from their childhood.
This is also a great ministry as many of the carers hear the gospel as they sit in while we have our service. Please pray for us as we spend time at castlegreen for the residents and the carers
